Have a
day out on a tour to the world- popular Chumbe coral reef sanctuary and the
lush tropical forest reserve that wraps the island. This privately managed 20
Hectare Island marine park is a exceptional nature destination located 8 Km
South West of Stone Town. It
covers 16 hectares of undisturbed forest surrounded by a virgin coral reef. The
sanctuary has more than 200 pieces of unspoiled stone corals, about 400 species
of fish, and turtles. A fixed number of 14 persons per day are allowed to go to
Chumbe Island on a day trip.
